Nabi gives 'yay or nay' on new signings, DDC graduates

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has issued his verdict on Amakhosi's new signings and the Reserves' team graduates that travelled with the Soweto giants for their pre-season camp.

Amakhosi land back on South African soil this week after a two-week pre-season camp in the Netherlands.

During the five friendly matches played, Nabi got a chance to see some of his latest recruits in action, with the exception of Siphesihle Ndlovu.

These included striker Flavio Silva, midfielder Ethan Chislett, and defenders Nkanyiso Shinga and Thabiso Monyane.

Speaking to the club's media team, Nabi insisted that the new arrivals were finding their feet.

"They need to fully jell with the group," Nabi points out about the newcomers.

"However, they are all adapting nicely, and they start to understand what I expect from them. Our objective was to sign new players that will bring us to a higher level compared to last season."

The Tunisian-Belgian also had a chance to see  three of the club's DStv Diski Challenge graduates who travelled with the team.

"These were left-back Kabelo Nkgwesa, midfielder Thulani Mabaso and striker Naledi Hlongwane, who scored the winning goal against PEC Zwolle - Chiefs' only victory in their tour.

"We don’t want to rush them. However, I am always willing to give maximum opportunities to young talents. If you are good enough, you are old enough to play. That’s my philosophy."

Amakhosi now shift focus to the Toyota Cup, where they face Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko at Moses Mabhida Stadium this weekend.
