Chiefs to be without Sirino and five players

Kaizer Chiefs will be without talisman Gaston Sirino and five more players when they take on TS Galaxy on Monday afternoon.

Amakhosi will be looking for their first win in three league outings when they play guests for The Rockets at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga for their ninth Betway Premiership match of the season.

They will have to do that without several of their key players. These include Gaston Sirino, who has been a standout performer for Chiefs since his arrival ahead of the new season.

The Uruguayan had contributed two goals and three assists in his brief time with Chiefs.

Noteworthy though, Sirino is understood to be in hot water at Amakhosi after a damning claim revealed that the attacker is at odds with the club's coach and management after allegedly committing a number of sportsman-like conduct including feigning injuries and defying club protocols, among other things.

It remains unclear if his absence is purely down to injury or some level of punishment. Another regular to be missing on Monday is Bradley Cross, who has not recovered from his injury sustained against Polokwane City.

The 23-year-old is the latest defensive casualty in an injury list that already includes Bongani Sam, Edmilson Dove and Dillan Solomons.

Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has also been added to that list and like Sirino, the club has provided no further information on the nature of his injury or when it was sustained.

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi is likely to turn to Fiacre Ntwari in the absence of Petersen.

Others are Edson Castillo who is out on a long-term injury as well as Nkosingiphile Ngcobo who is expected to be out of action for several weeks.

"The injured players include midfielders Edson Castillo, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Gaston Sirino, defenders Dillan Solomons and Bradley Cross, as well as goalkeeper Brandon Petersen," a club update on the Amakhosi website reads.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 15:30.
