Frosler: That was the difference on the day

Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler has explained where Kaizer Chiefs got it wrong against Mamelodi Sundowns as the men in Gold and Black look to turn a corner against Magesi FC.

Chiefs' top-four ambitions suffered a knock as they were on the end of a 1-0 to defeat to Sundowns at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Saturday. The evenly-matched encounter was decided by a wonder volley by Lucas Ribeiro, who struck late in the first half.

The Soweto giants landed two of their nine shots on targets, but neither found the back of the net.

Meanwhile, the home side made an equal nine attempts at goal, with three on target, although only one managed to beat Bruce Bvuma.

Speaking to the club's media after the match, Frosler reflected on the proceedings in front of a sell-out crowd.

"Obviously, the game on the weekend against Sundowns was a difficult loss to take. I don't think we played badly. We did what we had wanted to do.

"It's unfortunate that we didn't capitalise on the chances that we got and they scored their chances, and that was the difference on the day, I think," he said.

The result means Amakhosi occupy eighth spot on the table.

However, a win against relegation-threatened Magesi FC at FNB Stadium on Tuesday could see them move up to seventh, depending on goal difference.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
