In what is perhaps the clearest sign of the times for a once-mighty giant of South African football, the 2024/25 Betway Premiership title race is now officially over for Kaizer Chiefs.
The Glamour Boys are left with nine league games, having drawn their latest fixture against Cape Town City at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
That leaves them with a tally of 56 points should they win all their remaining matches - a prospect that seems far-fetched at this rate.

For all it's worth, current log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns are already on 58 points with 22 games played.
According to renowned football analyst Farouk Khan, who has previously been in the employ of the Naturena-based outfit, the lack of a prolific goalscorer has come back to bite them.
"Looking at the consistency and performance, it's been over for a while for Chiefs," says Khan.
"The only team now that can manage to compete for the league title is Orlando Pirates, and that's if they beat Sundowns this weekend. If not, it's over for them too.
"Sundowns will never lose five games out of seven, there's just too much quality (there).
"As for Chiefs, it's already over. Their best hope is to finish in the top four. They can actually go all the way up to position two or three if they win all their remaining games, but that is going be impossible if you look at their performance last night against a team that is struggling.
"Cape Town City is struggling very badly, but still, Chiefs were unable to score even one goal.
"Chiefs are minus three (on goal difference), which means they have conceded more goals than they have scored," he explains.
With The Brazilians having netted 30 goals between three players this season, the Director of Football at the Stars of Africa Academy says that is a recipe for a title-winning campaign.
"Chiefs don't have that. So, the only thing for Chiefs now is to win the Nedbank Cup, and that will guarantee them a place in Africa.

"They still need a goalscorer. Glody Lilepo is a good player, but he is not somebody who can score a goal a game, especially playing on the wing.
(Gaston) Sirino is more of a wide attacker, and (Thabo) Cele is more of a midfielder. (Ranga) Chivaviro has been there, and he hasn't produced the goods. (Tashreeq) Morris is injured. So, this season, I don't think they have found their man."
