The January transfer window came and went with Kaizer Chiefs doing no business leaving Amakhosi to continue for the rest of the season with the squad that they assembled at the beginning of the season.
That squad was brought together as Molefi Ntseki took over from Arthur Zwane.

With Ntseki failing to inspire Chiefs, Cavin Johnson was then reassigned from his head of academy role to caretaker coach duties in November with the club weighing up the options of who to bring in on a substantive basis and when.
This meant rolling up his sleeves for the task of taking charge of the dressing room, a role that he had last done while at Black Leopards in January 2020.
As the games came, the decision makers at Chiefs decided that Johnson will stay on until the end of the season.
