‘Get Funky’ ratings got a definite boost through Mzansi soccer’s golden boy at the time, Doctor Khumalo, featuring on the track.
Known for mesmerising opposition players on the field, Khumalo bamboozled listeners with his comical vocal skills, opening with the now iconic lines, “Get, get, get, get funky, funky, funky groovy groovy, yippe yippe yoh!”
