"Cape Town City are delighted to confirm the appointment of former club captain Lebogang Manyama as an assistant coach in Eric Tinkler's technical team," a brief statement from the club read.

After leaving Chiefs, Manyama had returned to City in hopes of securing a move, however, failure to fully recover from a knee injury forced the attacker into retirement.

Meanwhile, City will be looking for their first win in four league matches when they take on TS Galaxy on Wednesday at Mbombela Stadium.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
