His departure comes after having not featured in the last seven league games with his last appearance having been in the Carling Cup back against Golden Arrows in October.

"Cape Town City has agreed to part ways with Thato Mokeke by mutual agreement.

"We thank Thato for his incredible contribution throughout the years and wish him all the best in his future endeavours," reads a club statement.

The 33-year-old previously played for SuperSport United and Ajax Cape Town.

He can play as a holding midfielder, central defender and left-back.
