SuperSport have their sights set on continental glory as they prepare to face Tunisia's Club Africain in the decisive leg of their Confederation Cup semi-final in Rades on Sunday night (20h00).
Matsatsantsa were held to a 1-1 draw in the first meeting in Tshwane, but enter the rematch with momentum following their come-from-behind MTN8 final win over Cape Town City at Moses Mabhida Stadium last weekend.
Eric Tinkler's men can also draw inspiration from their quarter-final victory over Zesco United in the CAF event, with Thuso Phala taking centre stage by dramatically completing a late brace in Ndola against the Zambians to see them reach the last-four.
“The character we’ve in this team SuperSport is amazing. We’ve got that never-say-die attitude,” said Williams, who saved two penalties in the shootout win over Benni McCarthy's side following a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes of football in Durban.
“People wrote us off this past week in the MTN8. Everyone was saying Cape Town City are going to win and Benni this and Benni that, so we proved our doubters wrong.
“When we went to Zesco United in the quarter-finals, look at what we did there. Last minute goals and they had not conceded a goal there in the confederation for the past few years.
“We went there not worrying about the job at hand. We just went there to win the game and score those goals.”
