Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Dean Furman revel in SuperSport United's CAF progression

Needing a win for their final group stage encounter, Matsatsantsa brushed aside Group D whipping boys Mounana FC 4-1 to finish second in the group following TP Mazembe’s 2-1 victory over Horoya, thus securing their passage into the knockout phase of the competition.

Having been in continental action over the past month throughout the domestic off-season, this encounter signalled the official end of SuperSport’s 2016/17 campaign, with some their stars taking to social media to express their joy at finishing the season on a high.

Midfielder Letsholonyane, who started his 300th top-flight encounter in Saturday night’s win, revealed his pride in helping his side qualify for the last eight.

Bafana Bafana international Furman felt the win was the perfect send-off to a successful season as he looks ahead to the 2017/18 campaign.

SuperSport will face the winners of Group C Zesco United in their first leg quarter-final in the second week of September.
