Jeremy Brockie closes in on SuperSport United scoring record held by Abram 'Fire' Raselemane

Just like he has been doing since arriving from New Zealand in January 2015, Brockie was on target again last night against Club Africain in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final second leg for his 53rd goal in SuperSport colours.

Raselemane scored 57 goals through his time with Matsatsantsa from 2001 to 2006.

He passed away in May 2008 while on the books of Bidvest Wits.

Brockie is now just four goals away from equalling Raselemane’s record.

The 30-year-old has only been playing for SuperSport for just under three years but he is already on the list of the highest scoring players currently active in the PSL.

There are less than 20 players currently playing in the PSL with at least 50 goals in the colours of a local topflight club.

That list has the all-time PSL era top scorer Siyabonga Nomvete with 120 goals followed by his AmaZulu teammate Mabhuti Khenyeza on 107.

The only other players to surpass 100 goals in the PSL era are Daniel Mudau (108), Manuel ‘Tico-Tico’ Bucuane (104) and Collins Mbesuma (102).
