CAF Confederation Cup match report Al Hilal v Etoile Du Sahel 23 April 2019

Etoile du Sahel advanced to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup following a 2-1 second-leg victory over Al-Hilal on Tuesday evening.

Etoile entered the second leg with an advantage after winning the first leg in Tunisia two weeks ago.

The game got off to a quiet start, but the hosts sprung into life after 30 minutes and went ahead through a strike from Waleed Hamid.

The visitors weren't behind for too long as they restored parity six minutes later, with Karim Aribi finding the back of the net.

Etoile finished the half with 10 men after Karim Aouadhi was given his marching orders on the stroke of halftime.

With the hosts desperate for more goals, Mohamed Eldai replaced Boubacar Diarra just before the hour mark.

However, the Tunisian outfit ended any hopes of comeback for the home side as Wjdi Kechirda gave his side the lead on the night with 10 minutes remaining.

The away side were able to see out the closing stages to claim a 2-1 win on the night and 5-2 win on aggregate, and have set up a semi-final clash with Egyptian giants Zamalek,
