Souleymane Coulibaly: Etoile Du Sahel striker linked with R26-million Zamalek move

Coulibaly, 25, has endured a dramatic fall from grace since being dubbed the next Didier Drogba after scoring nine goals in four games at the U-17 FIFA World Cup with Ivory Coast nine years ago.

Coulibaly failed to break into the Premier League club's first-team and has since represented nine clubs over the past seven years, with his stint at Al Ahly arising as one of the most notable.

The Egyptian giants forked out R19m for his services from Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock and beat the White Knights to his services but after scoring six goals in 12 games, he returned the United Kingdom without notice.

Since the drama, the Ivory Coast youth international played four games for Patrick Thistle in Scotland before returning to North Africa with Etoile du Sahel in May 2019.

And after impressing since his move to the Tunisian top-flight, Egyptian news outlet Youm7 suggests that Zamalek are preparing a R26m offer for the journeyman.

It's been suggested the five-time CAF Champions League winners are awaiting Patrice Carteron, who recently signed a new contract at the club, to offer the green light for the lucrative transfer.

A return to Cairo where he claimed he was forced to flee due to racism is likely to spark further outrage amongst the fans at the Club if the Century.
