Sundowns jetted out of the country for Sudan on Monday for the CAF Champions League clash in Khartoum on Thursday.
The Brazilians have already qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals after winning all their games in Group B so far.
Despite the challenges of the soccer field in Khartoum, Mokwena says his team is ready to give it their best shot and maintain their winning ways in the elite club competition.
"We are on national team responsibilities and there's no time to rest," said Mokwena after the team's training session in Khartoum on Tuesday.
"The training was good, the training went well. We trained at the main stadium to allow ourselves to adapt and adjust from a technical and tactical [standpoint], from a physical perspective to adapt to the conditions and prepare thoroughly.
"There is travelling fatigue but also you have three days away from the match, it's important that you do some form of tactical and technical activation, some adaptation, psychologically from the condition of the pitch because it's a very hard surface and bumpy, and extremely hot out there."
The match against Al Hilal was set to kick off at 18h00 but was brought forward to 15h00 on Thursday due to a floodlights problems at the stadium.
"The reality is that the stadium is not in the best of condition from an electrical perspective. We are not engineers. We got a report the lighting is not in good condition.
"You can see the game against Bafana Bafana, the other side was dimmer in the second half, the side of [Innocent] Maela. But the reality is when the pitch is not like that, they have to move so that we don't have complications. It augurs well for the match and for our preparations."
