Mamelodi Sundowns' Pitso Mosimane reacts to Al Ahly CAF Champions League last-eight draw

Last season, Sundowns met Ahly at the same stage of the competition and famously trounced them 5-0 in the first-leg at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium before advancing 5-1 on aggregate.

The historic result over the most successful side in Africa reverberated around the continent and marked the Brazilians as a force in Africa's premier club competition.

"Unbelievable draw. This looks like whatever Sundowns do, we follow the same teams again," Mosimane tells snl24.com/kickoff. "It happened with [Wydad] AC, we were getting WAC every time in our group.

"Now the story begins with Al Ahly now, the same as last year. Same team, different games, different years, will be different mentalities, different moods.

"I believe Al Ahly at first didn't know us or respect us but after the results last year when we knocked them out of the quarter-finals, I think the mood will be different. They will prepare more for us.

"So it's now going to be difficult because now they know us, but they are also under pressure because they are always favourites and they have pressure to beat us.

"So yeah I don't know, we'll see how it goes but the pressure is on Al Ahly and not on us."
