Sundowns will travel to Cairo for their first ever meeting against their former coach Pitso Mosimane banking on having the influence of Zwane back to stamp his authority in attack.
Zwane went out with discomfort against Maritzburg United and was not used against TS Galaxy on Sunday.
"We are hopeful and from the doctors it looks like he will be able to play the next match in Egypt, and we are hopeful that everything goes according to plan," says Manqoba Mngqithi, the Sundowns co-coach.
'Mshishi' was substituted after just 12 minutes last Wednesday in what Mngqithi says was more of a precautionary measure to guard against further damage.
"It never looked very serious but we had to be a little bit cautious in making sure that we don't aggravate it so that is why we took him out early without giving it a chance. It was never really a tear but a strain that could have easily resulted in a tear had he continued in the match.
"But we took him out, which is why the doctors said within a week or 10 days he will be able to help us and we have enough days now towards our next match," explains Mngqithi.
Zwane has already gone into double digits on the scoring charts in all competitions for the third season running with 12 to his name this term.
Though the 31-year-old has only scored twice in 16 matches since the turn of the year, he remains a key factor in how Sundowns plot their attacks and Mosimane will factor him into his planning come Saturday.
