Bernard Parker, Reeve Frosler and Ricardo Goss make CAF Champions League Team of the Week - 5 April 2021

Two Kaizer Chiefs players and one from Mamelodi Sundowns have been included in the CAF Champions League Team of the Week following game-week 5 of the group stages.

Bernard Parker and Reeve Frosler have become the first Chiefs players to be named in the continental club championship's best XI in a game-week.

Parker and Frosler both starred in Amakhosi's impressive 1-0 win over Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

The 35-year-old, who donned the captain's armband, bagged the all-important goal that separated the two sides to give the Soweto giants a fighting chance to reach the quarterfinals.

'Die Hond' at the same time ended an incredible 61-game scoring drought, with his recognition set to serve as a further confidence booster for the rest of their campaign.

Meanwhile, Sundowns goalkeeper Ricardo Goss also earned his spot in the team of the week after keeping a clean sheet in his Champions League debut against Al-Hilal in Sudan last Friday.

The South African trio made it alongside Zamalek duo Mahmoud Hamdi and Ferjani Sassi, Simba pair Luis Miquissone and Clatous Chama, Horoya's Fode Camara and Khadim Diaw, as well as Amir Sayoud of CR Belouizdad and Saifeldin Maki of El Merreikh.
