Al Ahly confident of beating Sundowns

Head coach Marcel Koller is confident that Al Ahly will advance from Group B to qualify for the CAF Champions League knockout stages.

The Egyptian giants began their CAF Champions League campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Al Hilal in their group stage opener in Sudan.

The Red Devils now face a tricky tie against Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday.

"It is going to be a tough game for us, we know Mamelodi Sundowns are a very good team," Koller said.

"We are also a good team, we showed this in the first game and we have full self-confidence that we will produce a good result tomorrow.

"We know we have improved a lot since I took the job six months ago, and we're going to improve more and more, and we have grown with our performances.

"We showed great performances in the Club World Cup, in the Egyptian Premier League and in the game against Sundowns we played well but the results were not satisfactory for us.

Koller took over the coaching reigns from Ricardo Soares late last year after the club failed to win the domestic league.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
