'We can't do it on our own' - Williams urges fans to support Bafana

Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams has made a passionate plea to South Africans to show their support as Bafana Bafana host a star-studded Morocco in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.

Hugo Broos' side will be aiming for revenge after suffering defeat to Morocco in their opening AFCON qualifying campaign.

Both teams will also take part in the 2023 AFCON showpiece set to take place in the Ivory Coast in January.

"Obviously, it's disappointing having been on the other side a few years ago.

"We got criticism and rightfully so, we didn't qualify. Now we did qualify, you don't see any hype about us.

"It's a bit saddening, and it's been disappointing.

"It's important to support the national team through thick and thin that's why we need each and every one's support, we can't do it on our own.

"When we play these teams away, they make it difficult for us, once we play at home, you don't see the numbers, you don't see the support that one hopes we will get.

"So we would like to urge the fans to come and support the team, get behind the team. You can see there is something building in the squad.

"In last few years, we lost three games over two or three years, and people don't speak much about that."

Kick-off is at 17:00.
