WATCH | 'I will not answer your questions' - Hugo Broos ABANDONS media briefing after shock Liberia result

A furious Hugo Broos initially abandoned his post-match press conference without taking questions after Bafana Bafana's shock draw against minnows Liberia in a Afcon qualifier.

Bafana Bafana looked on course for a comfortable win after going 2-0 up courtesy of a Lyle Foster brace.

But Liberia launched a second-half comeback through Tonia Tisdell and eventually rescued a point when Mohammed Sangara unleashed a screamer to beat Ronwen Williams in additional time.

Broos was bizarrely seen marching down the tunnel immediately after Liberia equalised.

The Belgian then initially tried to skip his post-match duties before eventually appearing after journalists refused to speak to assistant coach Helman Mkhalele.

"First of all you have to apologise [forgive] me today, I will not give much comment," an irritated Broos said.

"I will not answer your questions. There is too much disappointment, too much anger in my body that If I should say now what I think, that will be not nice.

"I've always been ready in the past to answer your questions, even difficult questions. But I hope that you understand that today it is, for me, very difficult to do that.

"So again, sorry for that but I hope when you saw the game and when you saw what happened on the pitch today, you can understand my reaction also. Thank you very much.

The 70-year-old then made his exit without taking a single question from journalists.

Friday's result leaves Bafana Bafana third in Group K with a must-win return fixture in Liberia approaching on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
