Ngubane: Bafana outclassed Morocco

South African football legend Mlungisi "Professor" Ngubane insists Bafana Bafana outclassed a star-studded Morocco side in a 2-1 win at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The win saw Bafana finish top of Group K in their AFCON group qualifiers as they take aim at next year's continental showpiece in the Ivory Coast.

"Bafana played well and looked like a national team, they were solid," Ngubane tells KickOff.

"The reason Morocco was not at their best is because South Africa was too good. They were strong in all departments.

"They were better than Morocco.

"But the biggest motivation on Saturday was Clive Barker. You could see the way Zakhele Lepasa celebrated his goal, that they were playing for Clive.

"I think that was the message from Danny Jordaan, let's do it for Clive.

"I hope Saturday's performance doesn't mislead us into thinking that we are better than what we are.

"We must not forget that Bafana's first goal was a gift because the goalkeeper was not even under pressure.

"Percy Tau whipped in a cross, and the Morocco goalkeeper scored. It could have been 1-1.

"So, the Bafana players still have to prove themselves at the AFCON finals. Only then we will say we have a team."
