Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Cassius Mailula has revealed the one payer he couldn't wait to meet after receiving his maiden call-up to the senior national team.
Maillula's sensational debut season with the first team saw him score 14 goals and provide four assists in 23 appearances, and his efforted earned a first call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad.
Having previously spoken of his admiration of Sundowns and Bafana teammate Themba Zwane, Mailula has now also revealed that he could barely play alongside Al Ahly attacker Percy Tau.
"It was good to see people I was actually watching and admiring. Now being on the same pitch with them was amazing. I never thought it would come so early but with God's grace, everything happens in its own time," Mailula told SAFA Media of his breakthrough season.
"I always wanted to play with Percy Tau in the same team with him, on the same pitch with him. Firstly, it was Mshishi [Zwane] and I play with him at the same club, I just wanted to one day play with Percy Tau. I'm so happy it's finally going to happen."
