Liberia coach promises to make Bafana "suffer"

Head coach Ansumana Keita has promised that Liberia aim to make Bafana Bafana "suffer" when the two teams meet in the return leg of a Group K African Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Lone Stars clinched a valuable point after a late equaliser to record a 2-2 draw against Bafana Bafana at Orlando Stadium on Friday.

A confident Keita insisted home ground advantage will count for much and believes his chargers will be much sharper than the visitors.

Tuesday's clash will be played at the SKD Sport Complex in Monrovia, in Liberia. This will be the first time since 2020 the country hosts an international fixture, after only having the artificial pitched stadium approved by CAF in February.

"For three years now, we have not played at home. The Liberians are hungry, they are hungry. Trust me, before 08:00 in the morning, the stadium will be packed already, trust me. The Liberians will be there to support their team.

"To Bafana Bafana, here's a message for you: We are here to compete. We will compete.

"The tactical strategy that we will use to make South Africa suffer, will make them know that, yes, we want to win. We are not going to choke. We're going to play. No matter what happens, we will play.

"South Africa is bigger than us in football, everywhere [in everything] but we are more prepared than them at this time; mentally, physically technically and tactically, we are prepared."

The Bafana squad landed in Liberia on Sunday night to put in the final preparations for the clash

Kick-off is at 18:00 (SA time).
