Broos calls for caution: 'We still haven't qualified'

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos was quick to remind everyone that the job is not done despite building a big lead in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group.

Bafana moved to 16 points at the top of Group C following a dominant 3-0 victory over Lesotho on Friday evening in Bloemfontein.

“It’s a nice number, the other side the only thing that’s important is win the games we supposed to win and it was not so easy today," Broos told SABC Sport.

"It was a very nervous game, you know what happened before. We did what we had to do and make beautiful goals."

With the might of Nigeria up next, there’s no turning back for Bafana who are well aware that qualification for the United States, Mexico and Canada lie in their own hands.

“We have to go on now that’s the most important thing, we still haven’t qualified even if we are in a very good position but there are still three games.

“We are in a very good position. We have it in the hands and we will try not to give it away and in one hand we will have a very big party."
