Heredia served as goalkeeper coach within the Bafana technical team from 1998 and served under coaches such as Gordon Igesund, Cavin Johnson, Stuart Baxter and Kaitano Tembo.
After current Bafana head coach, Hugo Broos dropped a bombshell when he revealed that agents had been offering him invitations to share a coffee or tea to discuss their clients.
"But I cannot say for a fact that the coaches made a deal with the agents. One thing for sure is the agents were always there all the time, trying to push for their players, trying to influence one way or another the coach's selections.
"Most of the time you go to a hotel for a camp, and you will see agents sitting in the lobby, talking to players, and many of the coaches were getting upset by that because the hotel was supposed to be a calm place to be focused before a game.
"The agents were always around, if not in the camp they were at the airports, even when you played overseas. But it's not only a South African thing, but every country in the world also has this kind of situation you know.
"They will be looking to sell their players and the only way to promote them is if they play for the national team. So somehow they try to befriend the coaches.
"If a player is in the starting line-up or gets game-time in a particular match it's good for the agent. In my opinion by doing that the agents are not helping the players."
Heredia says it becomes even worse when a coach shares the same agent as a particular player.
"I don't think it's right, the coach needs to be completely free. I have covered 128 games for Bafana Bafana, working with 13-14 coaches.
"They tried by all means not to be influenced by agents, by clubs, the media as a good coach tries not to be influenced by outsiders."
