Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has labelled the upcoming Afcon qualifier clash against Liberia as the "big test" for his new-look squad.
The 1996 champions are set to take on Liberia in a crucial Afcon qualifier on Friday and Broos believes the fixture with be the true test of his side's strength.
"When I came here we had to build a new team and it's not always easy when you have to build a new team and you need results because the qualifiers for the world cup were there," Broos said.
"So, we did well in the qualifiers, except in the last game, we lost, we had three, four months, bad months with the 5-0 loss to France.
"But after that, for me, I looked at what had happened in the past and we had taken some decisions and suddenly we had the team we wanted.

Bafana Bafana played and won four friendly matches late last year, defeating Sierra Leone (4-0 ) and Botswana (1-0) in September before beating Mozambique (2-1) and Angola (2-1) in November.
"We played good games in September and we played good games in November and now is the big test," Broos added.
"So let's hope that this team can also beat Liberia in the two games because this team needs a big tournament like Afcon to play against the countries African.
"Every game at the Afcon is a big game so you get to experience that level and this Is what we need with this team now. So, we will do everything to qualify."
