Broos counting on Tau's scintillating form

Head coach Hugo Broos is preparing to unleash an in-form Percy Tau when Bafana Bafana face a star-studded Morocco in an AFCON qualifier at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Tau can be regarded as perhaps the most in-form player on the continent after starring in Al Ahly's CAF Champions League triumph.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker joined the national team camp ahead of Saturday's clash earlier in the week after lifting his second continental crown.

"What I know is that when Percy Tau comes to the national team, he wants to perform, and he wasn't ready to perform when he suffered from injury," Broos said.

"First of all, he wasn't play at Al Ahly, and then for four or five weeks was injured, and every time he came to the national team, he was injured.

"It's very important for him to be playing well because a good Percy Tau is good for Bafana Bafana.

"When I see him now in the last few months, he is a standout player, he is playing, and playing well.

"In the games I have seen him playing in the Champions League, I see that he is fresh, and in good shape, and it's important for us".

Kick-off is at 17:00.
