Despite Pirates' good record against Chiefs in recent years, Amakhosi are the in-form team after the way they have started the season and are currently number one on the Absa Premiership log.
Siyabonga Nomvethe, who played for both Amakhosi and The Buccaneers, says it will be difficult to predict what will happen on the day because both teams have to deliver a trophy after years of drought.
"It's hard to predict, only action will do the talking," he said.
"It's going to be a tough match for both teams. It would be wrong for people to think there's anyone who has better chances than the other, anyone can win that game.
"I'm sure both want to go to the next round, both of them are in a similar situation. They have the same pressure to deliver a cup."
Last season Pirates came out on top in the semifinals of the same competition before losing to Baroka in the final.
