OFFICIAL: Jurgen Klopp extends Liverpool stay

Liverpool have confirmed that manager Jurgen Klopp has penned a two-year contract extension at Anfield.

The German tactician will now be the Reds' boss until 2026, having joined the club in October 2015.

According to The Athletic, the 54-year-old was expected to take some time off after the 2023/24 season, when his previous deal was due to expire, but has since changed his mind.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss has helped bring some much-needed success to the Merseyside outfit, having guided the side to the 2019/20 Premier League title, the Reds' first in 30 years.

His tenure has also seen him win the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League, the 2019/20 UEFA Super Cup and the 2019/20 FIFA Club World Cup with the Reds, as well as the Carabao Cup in February this year.

Liverpool's next match is against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday, and Klopp and his charges will want to claim another three points in their quest to secure an unprecedented quadruple this season.
