Sasman has quickly established himself in the Chiefs setup since arriving on a free transfer from Ajax Cape Town during pre-season and has already won over some of the club's fans.
The 23-year-old looks to have cemented his place in Ernst Middendorp's side, having played the last five games since his debut against AmaZulu, and has yet to taste defeat while on the pitch.
Headed into his first Derby fixture against rivals Orlando Pirates, the Cape Town-born left-back has since shared his personal emotions, with it also being a Telkom Knockout fixture that is guaranteed to end with one winner and one loser.
"Well, I'm not really nervous. Playing against Sundowns last week was also a really packed stadium, so I'm getting used to playing under such circumstances with high expectations," Sasman tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"So, it's just another game and we take it one at a time. But I'm not really nervous for the Pirates game, I'm just excited to be part of the team.
"We are highly motivated for this game, and it's going to be a difficult one, but we'll definitely bring the fire, like we always do in every game.
"The fact that it's a Derby, I know there's high expectations and it's going to be a different ball game playing against Pirates.
"I actually don't think their struggles will affect them in this game; they are a good team that plays good football, and I think they'll be well motivated to play against Chiefs.
"We're also on a good run now, we're definitely improving and I'm sure they will be having a close look at that, but we'll definitely be ready."
