With the 2021/22 campaign done and dusted, it is the holiday season for all those who will not be taking part in international football. The now-former Amakhosi defender is a huge admirer of fishing and we imagine he will be doing a lot of that during the recess.
On Wednesday, the Glamour Boys announced several imminent departures, including Kearyn Baccus, Daniel Akpeyi, Leonardo Castro, Lebogang Manyama, Lazalous Kambole, and Samir Nurkovic.
Cardoso is among those expected to leave Naturena, as the club confirmed the news on Twitter: "Kaizer Chiefs parts ways with Cardoso," the club tweeted.
"Veteran defender Daniel Cardoso will call time on his Chiefs career with his contract due to expire at month-end. The 33-year-old played 185 games in seven seasons and weighed in with 12 goals. All the best!"
The former Bidvest Wits star generally has is fishing equipment ready to catch some carp, a deep-bodied freshwater fish that is generally found in large ponds.
As someone who enjoys his endeavours at the lakes, he once wrote on one of his Instagram posts: "Nothing better than hearing your line go and pulling out a beaut of a fish. Summer is just about here, so time to put the lines out and relax and have some peace and quiet out at the waters."
How would you rate the centre-back's spell at Chiefs?
