Zungu demanding 'nothing less than top-four finish'

AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu revealed that he is demanding nothing less than a top-four finish from Spanish tactician Pablo Franco's side for this season.

Zungu confirmed that his side ventured heavily into the transfer market to recruit with the aim of securing continental football.

Usuthu are also reportedly currently assessing the likes of Phumlani Ntshangase and Collins Makgaka among several other prospective signings.

"We want a top-four finish, that's our main target," Zungu tells KickOff.

"We want to go and play on the continent again next season.

"We want to go play either CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup.

"It's important for AmaZulu to play in such competitions because we are a big brand.

"The way we performed in Africa two seasons ago proved how big a brand we are.

"People in countries like Morocco, Algeria, Malawi and the Democratic Republic of Congo were very excited to see AmaZulu.

"That's a very important thing if you want to grow your brand. Since playing there the last time AmaZulu brand is being regarded as one of the top brands on the continent.

"We can't build a global brand if we are not playing in Africa. That's the reason we want to go back to the continent.

"Collins Makgaka is one of those guys that are there for assessment. There is also Denwin Farmer, Phumlani Ntshangase, Tebogo Tlolane and a guy from France.

"We have a couple of guys that we are assessing.

"At the moment I'm not sure what the coach is going to say about them."
