Spanish coach eyeing AmaZulu job

DStv Premiership side AmaZulu could turn to Spanish tactician Pablo Franco Martin as the club's new head coach for next season.

Usuthu are currently under the tutelage of interim coach Ayanda Dlamini after recently cutting ties with Romain Folz who has been redeployed to a technical advisor role.

Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi has also been recently linked with a move to take over as head coach at the Durban-based outfit next season.

According to a source close to AmaZulu, the club has been flooded with numerous applications with many coaches eyeing the vacant coaching position.

"The club has not advertised the position of head coach. But surprisingly has received several applications with many coaches showing interest to coach AmaZulu next season," a source tells KickOff.

"It's difficult to mention names but yes one of the former Simba FC coaches has sent his application and is interested to coach AmaZulu next season.

"There are quite a few foreign coaches that are showing huge interest even though the club has not advertised the post."

AmaZulu are currently in 10th position on the DStv Premiership standings with 29 points from 25 games in the league this season.
