Nurmagomedov (32) recently retired from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (IFC) ring in October last year with a perfect mixed martial arts record of 29-0-0, which included famous victories over the likes of Connor McGregor, Dustin Poirier and, most recently, Justin Gaethje.
The reigning UFC lightweight champion is now looking to make a switch to football and revealed that he has spoken to a host of prominent figures in an attempt to make that dream come true.
"To play football on a professional level is a childhood dream," the Russian fighter told Match TV. "Of course, I have such a wish. Football is the king of sports after all.
"Who haven't I discussed this with! I've spoken even with the UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, with the owner of [Paris Saint-Germain], yes and even with Cristiano Ronaldo."
Nurmagomedov was also questioned on which club he supports, and revealed that Ronaldo's former side Real Madrid were at the top of his list.
"Spartak [Moscow] of course are great, but that's domestic level. My dream club is Real Madrid," he said. "In fact, the first match I remember watching the full 90 minutes, was Real vs Juventus in the 1998 [UEFA Champions League final]. I remember [Predrag] Mijatovic scored from an offside position, but we still won."
