Egypt international Omar Marmoush secured his first hat-trick for Manchester City, who thrashed Newcastle United in Premier League action on Saturday.
Phil Foden, Rico Lewis, Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Nico Gonzalez were recalled to the Cityzens line-up after the midweek UEFA Champions League action.
City got their reward after 18 minutes after January Marmoush got on the end Ederson's long-pass before lobbing the advancing Matt Dubravka for his first goal of the club.
Marmoush managed to bag his and City's second goal six minutes later with another composed finish in the box after being slipped in by Ilkay Gundogan.
The Egypt international was not done there as he completed his first hat-trick for the club after turning home Savinho's cross with a first-time finish from 12 yards out.
While Newcastle struggled to trouble City goalkeeper Ederson, Pep Guardiola's charges looked to add more goals when Foden's corner found Erling Haaland, who saw his header saved by Dubravka.
The Magpies did threaten the Cityzens' goal in the second half as Lewis Hall saw his long-range strike saved by Ederson, who barely had a save to make in the opening 45 minutes.
Both sides looked to rest some players in the final 15 minutes as Guardiola withdrew Marmoush and Foden for Jeremy Doku and James McAtee while Newcastle introduced Callum Wilson for Anthony Gordon.
City's changes made the impact as Haaland's knock on at the near post found an un-marked McAtee, who slotted home from close range with an acrobatic finish.
