Ex-Chiefs star 'agrees' Euro move after MLS adventure

A former Kaizer Chiefs player has now reportedly agreed a deal to join a European club following his departure from Major League Soccer.

Zimbabwe international Teenage Hadebe is said to be nearing the next move of his career after he parted ways with Houston Dynamo in December 2023.

The tall centre-back was understood to have been released from his deal in the US, despite reports suggesting that the MLS club had a one-year option to extend his stay.

Hadebe, who represented Chiefs between 2017 and 2019, is now reportedly close to joining his next club in a league he will be familiar with.

According to Turkish website Sports Digitale, the 28-year-old has reached a verbal agreement with Super Lig side Konyaspor.

It is said the player will imminently fly out to Turkey to complete a medical and sign his contract, which is said to be for the remainder of the season with an option to add a further year.

Should it be completed, the transfer will mark a second stint for the defender in the Turkish top flight as he previously wore the colours of Yeni Malatyaspor between 2019 and 2021, a spell that came after his time with Amakhosi.

Konyaspor currently find themselves in a relegation scrap, sitting second from the bottom of the table with 10 losses, 10 draws, and just four wins in 24 matches so far.
