Every Premier League club's record signing

With English giants Liverpool and Manchester City having recently confirmed some big-money transfers, here's a look at every Premier League club's most expensive signing ever!

The two clubs will boast a new-look attack of sorts next season as they have both welcomed new centre-forwards to their homes with the arrivals of Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland.

While City's Haaland may have the bigger reputation, the Reds' Uruguayan recruit commanded a bigger fee than the Norwegian, whose signature was secured from Borussia Dortmund earlier this year after the Manchester club agreed to pay his £54 million (R1 billion) release clause.

Nunez's arrival from Benfica set the Merseyside club back an initial £64.1 million (R1.2 billion), in a deal that would only become a record transfer for the club if the included add-ons are achieved to reach a total figure of £85 million (R1.6 billion), according to the Daily Mail.

However, club captain Virgil van Dijk remains the most expensive arrival at Anfield after a fee of £75 million (R1.47 billion) was paid to secure his services from Southampton in January 2018.

At the Etihad, meanwhile, it is Englishman Jack Grealish who is the Citizens' record signing after joining Pep Guardiola's side from Aston Villa for a massive £100 million (R1.9 billion) last season – a fee that is also the biggest in Premier League history.

Nicolas Pepe's mammoth £72 million (R1.41 billion) arrival at Arsenal from Lille in 2019 is still the Gunners' priciest acquisition, while London rivals Tottenham Hotspur also paid a Ligue 1 outfit a club record fee when they paid £53.8 million (R1.05 billion) to secure playmaker Tanguy Ndombele's services from Olympique Lyon in 2019.

The most recent club-record signing in the English top flight is Newcastle United's January 2022 signing of Bruno Guimaraes, who also made his way to England from Lyon.

The Magpies forked out £40 million (R785 million) to tie the Brazilian down to a four-and-a-half-year deal at St James' Park, per Sky Sports. You can see the complete list in the gallery up top!
