The decision for Bongani Zungu's Amiens to be relegated after the cancellation of Ligue 1 has been blocked by the French high court.
France's highest administrative court has rejected an appeal to reverse a decision to end the Ligue 1 season early amid the coronavirus crisis but ruled that relegation for Amiens and Toulouse would be suspended.

French football league's decision to end the season with 10 games remaining meant that Olympique Lyon failed to qualify for Europe through the Ligue 1 standings, while Amiens and Toulouse dropped to the second division.
As a result, all three clubs' lodged formal appeals against the decision to end the league prematurely which was taken after the government confirmed that the no professional sport would be allowed to return before September.

"The board of directors of the League could not legally be founded, to decide to relegate the last two in the Ligue 1 ranking, on the fact that the current agreement with the French Football Federation (FFF) provides for a limit of twenty clubs, while this agreement ends on June 30 and 'a new agreement must be signed," the statement read, as per RMC.
It's now been suggested that the 2020/21 league campaign will have 22 sides instead of the traditional 20 teams, while the process of relegation and promotion is yet to be confirmed.
