The resilience displayed by Kaizer Chiefs en route to elbowing Stellenbosch FC out of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday has received a positive review from a man who used to score goals for fun at the club.
Nasreddine Nabi's team showcased their quality on the day, proving too much for Stellenbosch FC.

Despite the 'home' side managing a late equaliser in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal, Chiefs successfully responded and won 3-1 in regulation time.
Now, they await the outcome between Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United to see who they will face in the next phase.
"The boys made us proud on Saturday. I'm so happy to see them in the semi-finals," said a beaming Siyabonga Nomvethe, speaking to KickOff.com.
"They showed a lot of fighting spirit, and the players demonstrated how much they wanted to secure a place in the semi-finals. They just need to play to close out the game within the 90 minutes.
"Things almost took a turn for the worse after Stellies equalised. Stellenbosch is not an easy team to beat, so undermining them is a risky move.
"I was particularly impressed with players like Pule Mmodi and Glody Lilepo from Chiefs. They were also solid defensively, supported by the ever-reliable Ignacio Miguel," revealed 'Bhele'.

Furthermore, Nomvethe expressed his satisfaction with the contribution made by the substitutes, in particular Mfundo Vilakazi.
"He took his goal exceptionally well. I admire his bravery. He doesn't panic under pressure. His goal was crucial in sealing the victory on Saturday.
"The only thing Chiefs need to focus on now is ensuring they reach the final. Everything else will take care of itself in that match."
However, the immediate task for the men in Black and Gold is moving up the table in the league, where they are sat a disappointing eighth. Next up on that front is Cape Town City at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
