Grand entrance for PSL’s latest freshman

Moroccan Frenchman Abdeslam Ouaddou has a grand entrance to remember about his debut in the PSL after taking over at Marumo Gallants.

Ouaddou was on the bench for the first time over the weekend as he guided Gallants to a famous victory over Orlando Pirates.

It was the side's first league win since January and since then they had played five league matches without victory.

"I have not been here for a long time, so I need time, so I need more time to make it an interesting team in terms of football.

"I'm not yet satisfied about our fitness, but we will work on that.

"We are waiting on the FIFA dates in order to work on that," noted Ouaddou after the weekend match.

Ouaddou arrives with considerable experience having taken charge of Congolese club AS Vita in his last job, while he has also worked in Benin, Morocco, Algeria, and France.

The 46-year-old – who played for Fulham – is the newest man in the league, where Nasreddine Nabi (Kaizer Chiefs), Adnan Beganovic (TS Galaxy), Ronnie Gabriel (Richards Bay), and Miguel Cardoso (Mamelodi Sundowns) are all in their first seasons as head coaches in the PSL.
