Gyan had a full session with the rest of the Ghana squad at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Campus in Rustenburg and team officials say the signs are positive that he will be fit in time.
The striker was treated for the first time by Serbian horse placenta therapist Mariana Kovacevic on Friday and says he was pleasantly surprised at being able to take part in Saturday's session.
"I trained today so we will see," he told KickOffGhana.com. "It was only the first training session I have had with the side so nothing is decided yet but I am positive about being fit in time for the tournament."
Ghana's hopes of winning a fifth African title are heavily pinned on Gyan who has developed a knack of scoring crucial goals in major tournaments hence the desire to get him fully fit well in time after he picked up a second degree hamstring injury with club side Al Ain.
