The bus, which was carrying around 35 passengers made up of players and the technical team, was returning to Kumasi following their 1-0 defeat with tragedy struck.
The severity of the accident remains unclear, with initial reports suggesting there were fatalities suffered, although the Ghana Premier League giants would no go into detail at this time.
The club did, however, post on Twitter: “The accident occurred around 9:45pm at Nkawkaw, when our bus ran into a stationary vehicle. Personnel on the bus are generally fine. Some are however receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital, Nkawkaw.
“Management requests that fans stay calm. A full statement on the incident will be issued in due course.”
An update from the Ghana FA read: “Medical chief at the Komfo Anokye Hospital has assured that injured #Kotoko players will get the best care at the hospital."
