Riveiro: What impresses me about Chiefs...

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has issued his honest assessment of rivals and upcoming opponents Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the two teams' meeting in the Soweto Derby.

The Buccaneers are hard at work preparing for one of the most monumental fixtures on the African footballing calendar. They host old foes Chiefs at a sold-out FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The two Titans go into the match with six points separating them on the log table somewhat with enough reason to be confident, having both won their last respective fixtures.

Although Pirates are considered favourites with just two defeats from one outing this season, Riveiro has warned that there is more to Chiefs' fifth-spot position than meets the eye.

"I think Chiefs is playing really well this season," the Spaniard stated in the Soweto Derby pre-match press conference.

"I don't think that the log is a reflection of Chiefs' performances so far in the league, I am honest.

"They are creating a lot of chances in each and every game, they are playing an attractive football – that's the same we are trying to do at Pirates.

"If we are both, let's say loyal to the football  that we were playing in the previous games, I think it's going to be an interesting game for the fans."

Riveiro walked away with a 3-2 win the last time he took on Chiefs and the Spanish mentor will be aiming for more of the same when the teams lock horns come Friday. For Nabi, the match will be his first Soweto Derby.

Kick-off is at 15:30.
