Speaking to SuperSportTV at Amakhosi's training base in Turkey, Petersen admitted that the new coaches' methods were different from what the squad had been accustomed.
"The first two and half weeks of preseason in South Africa it was tough," Petersen said.
"Obviously with the new guys, the fitness trainer, new assistant coach, the goalkeeper coach, they put us through our paces and c. Especially for us, the goalkeepers.
"Generally we [used to] try and build up and the send and third week we start going. [This time] we just went straight from the top.
"The first two days were a bit tough but after that, we could feel I our bodies adapting, getting better, getting stronger and now I think we are used to it and looking forward to the next couple of weeks of preseason."
