Ten Hag takes aim at Man Utd players after home loss

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag had a message for his players after their third defeat of the Premier League season.

The Red Devils went down 3-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion, who were the first team to secure a win at Old Trafford in 20 league games.

Ten Hag insists his plan was working for the opening 20 minutes until the Seagulls opened the scoring through former Red Devils striker Danny Welbeck.

The Dutch tactician says the players must stick to the plan after collapsing against Brighton.

"Absolutely [the system worked]," Ten Hag told MUTV after the game.

"The first 20 minutes were very good. We have to stick to the plan [despite the goal] because it worked well. We had quite a few chances."

Ten Hag added that there were positives from the defeat, which included the amount of chances created.

"There's always some improvements to make, especially the organisation. But is was not our day," he added.

"The second goal was straight after half-time. Second chance second goal, very clinical. It was a setback we did not deal with so good. but we have to keep positive in such moments and stick together and you will get back onto the game.

"You learn many things from such a game. From the mental side, you can keep strong in moments but I have seen some good stuff. the way we created many chances we are just not finishing them, but that will change."
