Angry Barcelona star breaks silence on EPL links

With FC Barcelona expected to sell some valuable stars in the next transfer window, one of them has now issued an angry response regarding rumours about his future at the Camp Nou.

Barca's financial woes have been laid bare in the media, and it is widely known that the club must sell some of their players and reduce their wage bill in a big way in order to bring in any new signings in the upcoming window.

With their record goalscorer Lionel Messi seemingly the club's primary target ahead of next season, the Spanish giants are reportedly willing to let go of some of their newer players given the lofty fees they would be able to sell them for.

As such, 2022/23 arrivals Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie and Raphinha have all reportedly been out up for sale should any potential suitors be willing to meet the club's valuation of them.

The latter has thus been linked with a return to the Premier League just 10 months after making the switch to Spain from Leeds United.

Both Newcastle United and Chelsea are reportedly interested in his services, with the Blues having previously made a move for him before being beaten to his signature by Barca last year.

With the Blaugrana said to have placed an £80 million (R1.9 billion) price tag on the Brazilian, there have also been suggestions the player himself would be willing to make a return to the English top flight, with Fanatico Sport Futebol, an Instagram account with more one million followers, recently sharing an article by Spanish outlet Sport speculating that Raphinha could be set for an early exit from Barca.

However, these reports appear to have angered the 26-year-old, prompting a defiant response from the South American.

"Lies. The person who said this is a liar and uninformed," the winger commented on the social media post, according to Chronicle Live.

His reply was then deleted, to which the Selecao attacker added: "Okay, [they] deleted my comment because lie once again.

"This is a lie and whoever said it is an uninformed liar and not professional.

"If my comment is deleted, I will post it on my Instagram."
