Manchester United ended their three-game winless run in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Brentford on Wednesday night.
Following Sunday's disappointing loss to Newcastle United, the Red Devils initiated one change as Erik ten Hag dropped Wout Weghorst to the bench to bring in Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils looked for a settled opening to the encounter where Scott McTominay met a cutback from Antony and volleyed over from the middle of the offensive area.
The Red Devils, though, did go ahead before the half-hour mark after Marcus Rashford pounced on a clever knockdown by Marcel Sabitzer and side-footed into the roof of the net.
However, an alteration was required from the English heavyweights six minutes to halftime when Luke Shaw pulled up with a knock and saw Tyrell Malacia come on to take his place.
After a decent period in the second stanza, United were inches away to doubling their lead through a low shot by Sabtizer but David Raya stretched across and produced a save.
Brentford began to have momentum following a quiet spell and came close as substitute Kevin Schade skipped past Raphael Varane before going clear for a cheeky dink, but David De Gea parried the strike.
The Red Devils got more openings from the host albeit on the break and came close when Rashford dropped a shoulder from a tight angle before setting up Fred for a shot, but sent his strike over the crossbar.
United continued to have a lot of the ball in the latter stages of the second, as the Bees were unable to get themselves back in the contest.
The win takes United above Tottenham Hotspur into fourth spot and level on points with third-place Newcastle United.
