Saleng, Mailula headline preliminary Bafana squad

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has announced his preliminary squad for crucial upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Liberia.

Broos has named a strong 35-man preliminary squad for the back-to-back fixtures to be played on 24 and 28 March respectively. 

On-form Monnapule Saleng and Cassius Mailula headline Broos's squad, the pair have been in sensentional form for their respective teams and will hope to carry that form to national duty.

SuperSport United teenager Thapelo Maseko also got the nod from Broos after impressing in his first Premiership season with Matsatsantsa's first team.

After suffering losing to Morocco on matchday one, Bafana are on the back foot and will need to at least avoid defeat and win one of their clashes against Liberia to be confident of a place in the continental showpiece.

The squad expected to to report to camp on Sunday, 12 March. The squad will be trimmed to 24 players in two-weeks' time.
