Chiefs hat-trick hero Bimenyimana lauded by Zwane

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has lauded hat-trick hero Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana while also explaining the Burundian striker's early withdrawal from Sunday's match.

Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana continued his impressive start to life with Kaizer Chiefs after scoring a hat-trick of penalties in his side's 3-1 DStv Premiership win over Stellenbosch FC in Cape Town on Sunday, taking his overall tally to six goals in the league this season.

The 24-year-old earned two of the three penalties awarded to Chiefs on the day, and converted all three himself, and was lauded by head coach Arthur Zwane for his overall performance after the match.

"With Caleb, you must have seen today that he simplifies things," Zwane said after the match. "He keeps it simple as a striker. He wants to play the ball out wide, he wants to protect the ball and he wants to play those one-twos. He's also skilfull though, he's not just a tall boy, and he's quick for his structure. He's got that balance.

"We've always wanted a player who can release players like Ash [Du Preez]. With the runs that he made, he freed Ash, so the ball carrier at the time mist be able to pick between one of the two of them and that's why Ashley was free twice.

"Caleb will attract [defenders], that's the strength he has as a player and, like I said, he's also clever on the ball. He's not just a striker that is waiting for the crosses. We are a not a team that relies on high balls, we are a team that wants to penetrate through the middle, or use width to create goal scoring opportunities."

Shortly after completing his hat-trick, Bimenyimana was withdrawn from the match and replaced with Nkosingiphile Ngcobo by Zwane after picking up a yellow card a few minutes prior.

"For Caleb, we had to take him out that time because he was already on a yellow. By nature he is aggressive, once you keep him on the field, anything can happen," Zwane added.

"He's already scored three goals, what more do we expect from him? Because keeping him on the field is a bit risky. So, we could've kept him on if he didn't get a yellow card, but unfortunately we couldn't risk it because we need him for the next game. We had to take him out and give other players an opportunity to play as well."
