However, the Uruguayan midfielder has now made a full recovery and is available for selection for Saturday's clash.

Meanwhile, Moroccan defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil in another boost for the Brazilians is set to make his much-awaited debut since joining the club.

Boutouil was officially unveiled as Sundowns' latest addition on a five-year deal with the Brazilians from Moroccan side SCC Mohammedia.

The 24-year-old defender has been touted as a direct replacement for Brazilian defender Ricardo Nascimento who joined rivals Royal AM last season.

"His papers have been sorted," a Sundowns official confirms to KickOff.

"It will all depend on the team selection but he is available to play against Pirates on Saturday.

Fellow defender Mosa Lebusa is also due to return from injury to make the trip for Saturday's encounter.
